Adult ARTlab: Patterned Textiles

In this workshop with teaching artist Yanira Vissepo, participants will acquire basic skills for designing and making their own patterned textiles, inspired by the exhibition Designing the New: Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the Glasgow Style. After students explore the work of Mackintosh and his contemporaries during a walk through the exhibition, they will sketch and create their own designs. Then, they will use techniques such as stenciling and block printing to transfer images onto fabric, with a emphasis on pattern making.
