Adult ARTlab: Picasso and the Figure

In this workshop with teaching artist Robert Scobey, students will learn how Pablo Picasso approached representations of the human figure throughout his career. Participants will explore the evolution of Picasso’s many styles through works in the exhibition Picasso. Figures, and then create their own paintings, using acrylic paint and collage. Students will experiment with one or more of Picasso’s many strategies, such as exaggerating shape and color, bending proportion, and deconstructing and reassembling forms.
